Overview: First person puzzle game where the main puzzle mechanic involves objects which only move or exist when you look at them.
20260621:
Among a list of games I had downloaded, ChatGPT recommended priortizing this one (see my blog post). I played until I reached the end-of-demo mark.
Steam Game Time: 45 minutes
First Impressions:
I added this game to my list of games based on the description. I had not watched the trailer. As such, the initial few minutes of the game, I had something else in mind about what the title meant. It was only until later that I understood the idea of the game. The puzzles are interesting. The game lacks the same spark and appeal of Portal, which is more or less the epitome of this game category. With that being said, I went ahead and wishlisted the game. Though the likelihood I revisit it in the future is low.
Throughout the demo, the puzzle mechanic requires looking or not looking at alien balls. However, towards the end of the demo, there are signs that parts of the environment will change or not change depending on whether they are observed. During the demo, none of these environmental changes (or lack of) play a role in any puzzles.
Demo Rating: 4.6 out of 5
The Steam store page does not have an AI Generated Content Disclosure section! (implying the developer(s) did not use AI to generate content for the game)
Object Impermanence (PC) (Demo)
