Overview: Puzzle adventure game with many characters that have different abilities.
20260622:
Today I was looking at the demos by how they're charting (Trending Upcoming, Popular Upcoming, and Top Demos). This game was near the top and also tagged with "Sokobon."
Steam Game Time: 29 minutes
First Impressions:
I enjoyed the number of different mechanics being introduced. After playing three characters to the North and a handful of levels to the East, I opted to pause progress on the demo to expose myself to possibly other demos that might be leaving. After stopping, I watched the trailer and learned the game comes from Jonathan Blow (Braid, The Witness). The Steam store page informs the full game has over 1000 puzzles and later puzzles will combine the different mechanics. That's really exciting to learn, though it doesn't influence my current rating for the game right at the 5.0 mark. The puzzles are the fun part, but there was an initial daunting feeling of the large overworld.
Also note that since I cut my experience of the demo short for exposure reasons, the 5.0 has a chance to be higher.
Minor detail. Some of the audio clips at the beginning of the game were too long. To be clear, I wanted to listen to all the audio, but there's no signal as to how long those clips would last. And in a couple of situations I either stood still to listen or reached the next sound clip before the current one event finished. I think either the clips should be spread out or shortened or have some simple puzzle to increase the time between them.
Demo Rating: 5.0 out of 5
The Steam store page does not have an AI Generated Content Disclosure section! (implying the developer(s) did not use AI to generate content for the game)
