Overview: Shooter with some math element
20260617:
Had my son do the math.
Setup: Keyboard
Steam Game Time: 25 minutes
First Impressions:
The game doesn't require clearing the entire screen. Which to me doesn't seem to encourage kids to get the solution right. Having to collect the stars to get a higher score also seems not to strongly correlate with getting the math right. In my case, I was in control of the shooter, so I could restrain myself from shooting unless my son got the math right, and his reward is essentially visually seeing all the enemies destroyed.
While I suppose exposure to the math is better than nothing. I think there should be a learning mode where enemies appear and the player should do the math and just enter the number. To reinforce the multiplication, the number representing the enemies should appear at the bottom.
Demo Rating: 3.0 out of 5
