Overview: Colonize Mars. City building simulation game.

This game was available on Steam for a free weekend and so I decided to give it a try. I played two out of five tutorials before I got bored. As such, I grudgingly decided to jump straight into the game. For better or worse, my little one was beginning to stir from his sleep and I decided to stop playing.

First Impressions:
I was happy that the game included a tutorial section, but I felt overwhelmed by the fact that there were five tutorials. In fact, I only played two tutorials and both contained too much information to remember.

I believe there are many superior options. For example, the game could have had a campaign mode for first-time players which teaches players how to play by slowly unlocking new options and buildings as the player progresses. In the case of Surviving Mars, the player would first only be able to drop a spaceship.

In any case, I rarely play city-building simulations and today I lacked the patience to learn how to play Surviving Mars.

Ending on a positive note, I enjoyed the graphics and my impression was that the game has a lot of depth.
