20190517:
Yuumi was released on live recently (May 13) but I haven't been playing League of Legends due to the amount of time it takes to play a match. However, as a support main, I definitely wanted to check out the new champion.
For better or worse, I didn't get a chance to play her prior to the hotfix:
After four games in co-op vs. AI, I had the following impressions:
Pros:
+ Strong with the right bruisers or tanks; it's like equipping a champion with a shield (passive), gun (Q), and replenishing health (E).
+ Ultimate has a reasonable cooldown
+ Q is good for
+ Share recall (similar to Rakan recalling with Xayah) and teleport.
Neutral:
~ My understanding is that in a teamfight, Yuumi should almost surely be jumping from champion to champion (and rarely ever off on her own)
: 1) shield tank while also throwing out poke with Q
: 2) keep ADC at full health and speed boost with E
~ Outside a teamfight, Yuumi can help assassins do their job plus make it out alive with her shield (passive) plus her heal and speed boost (E); I guess throwing in one or two Q's wouldn't hurt
Cons:
- No AOE (area of effect) damage.
- Essentially no CC (crowd control): her Q slows if it's traveled for long enough.
- Weak laning phase with many ADC (probably does well with hard-engage ADC like Kaisa)
Play Potential:
~ Switching from champion to champion to make optimal use of her ultimate seems like one of the biggest plays Yuumi can make. In particular, it takes three successful strikes to root an enemy, and so if the target enemy moves, so must Yuumi.
