Today I played Vertical Drop Heroes HD and was a bit torn on how much I liked it. On the one hand it was quite similar to Rogue Legacy (PC) (2013), except I didn't like the graphics as much, I slightly liked the gameplay more, and spent less time with it (44 minutes versus 2.3 hours).

Thoughts:
Pro:
+ Fun moments

Neutral:
~ The controls on a keyboard took some getting used to; I probably should have used a gamepad

~ Randomly-generated characters and levels

Cons:
- I wasn't fond of the art style
- Grinding to become stronger

Recommendation:
Vertical Drop Heroes HD is a decent game, but I would recommend Rogue Legacy over Vertical Drop Heroes HD. Between the two, Rogue Legacy is more polished and the variation in characters which I've encountered is better.
