Fractal: Make Blooms Not War (PC) (2011)

The seven adjacent tiles are cleared from the board.

Overview: Fractal: Make Blooms Not War is played on a hexagon-tiled playing field and the player pushes colored tiles together which explode whenever there is a set of six tiles of a single color adjacent to a single tile of the same color.

This puzzle game can be fun at times, but for the most part it is quite difficult. One, there is only a small amount of instruction. Two, triggering events can be hard to predict. For example, while there may be a desire to set up or set off big combos, the amount of planning necessary can be overwhelming.

The extent of instruction is given via subtle drawings in the background.

In terms of getting a grasp of the game's mechanics, I would recommend playing the Puzzle mode as soon as its available, and then heading back to the main Campaign after completing it.
