Path of Exile - Ritual

Overview: Ritual was a Path of Exile challenge league. The primary mechanic consisted of spawning monsters at rituals, gathering tribute, and using the tribute to make purchases. The league started on 20210115 and ended 20210412.
Blade Blast Bladefall
20210115:
Finished Act 10. I then finished a couple of maps and was too tired to keep going. I felt like my build wasn't in a great shape.

20210116:
Completed Baran (first Watchstone).

20210117:
So far unlocked five Watchstones.

20210118:
Broke into Yellow Maps. Still just six Watchstones. I guess I'm fatigued and/or have other things that come up to do

20210124:
I finished my Uber Lab today. Side note: I did all the required Trials of Ascendancy by mapping (as opposed to depending on Global 820).

20210125:
An Exalted Orb dropped! With that being said, I already got an Exalted Orb from somewhere (I can't remember from which mechanic).

Atlas Passives

20210201:
I attempted Sirus Awakening level 5. Unfortunately, I couldn't kill him. During the last phase, I somewhat panicked when faced against the mechanics.

With respect to my set-up, I went for 3 life flasks, but maybe that was a bad choice. In addition, perhaps I should have set my Pantheon to Arakaali + Ryslatha (I had Brine King + Tukohama).

20210203:
I spent most of today idling and browsing builds. In addition I was sleepy and had various interruptions.

20210210:
I spent today prepping and then leveling an alt character (Scourge Arrow Pathfinder; same build as my Heist main). I made it to halfway through Act 5 (Chamber of Innocence) before feeling sleepy at which time I stopped playing.

20210211:
I got the alt character to the Sarn Encampment. I was thinking about doing the Labyrinth, but I was sleepy.

20210213:
I finished Act 10 with the alt character. I then switched to BBBF.* I haven't done a map with the Scourge Arrow character yet.

*The sentence in my notes says "Switching to SA." But given the context, I must have meant "BBBF."
Cadiro offered an Exalted Orb!

20210220:
I've been playing with my Scourge Arrow character, but today I considered switching back to my BBBF character - at least to try and get Sirus Awakening level 8. I like the boss power of BBBF compared to SA.

20210221:
Accidentally triggered Sirus Awakening level 1 (I would have tried to do level 4 or level 5). At least I got Crusader Gloves and defeated him with only one portal.

Side note: my damage felt low and I later realized I was not wielding two wands (BBBF build with a wand and a shield).

20210227:
Yesterday I hit Sirus Awakening level 7. Today I attempted to fight Sirus Awakening level 4 with my BBBF character. Unfortunately I failed. I guess I'm not tanky and/or fast enough with this build. It's also likely that someone who knew the Sirus fight mechanics better could use this exact character and succeed against level 4.

This BBBF character has 8 days 8 hours 5 minutes 37 seconds played on it (200 hours).* In comparison, after 286 hours into Heist league, I was able to defeat Sirus Awakening level 4 with my Scourge Arrow Pathfinder.

*The SA character has 1 day 16 hours 56 minutes 54 seconds played on it (40 hours).
The Envoy
20210301:
I couldn't sell my Sirus Awakening level 8 so I just tried to do level 4. I prepped by buying a Blood of the Karui, switching up my tree to be closer to the POE Ninja tree I'm following, which includes using a Militant Faith Dominus jewel, and borrowing an Atziri's Promise from my Pathfinder. My flask setup consisted of Chem Life Staunching, Atziri, Perp Quicksilver Heat, Karui, and Chem Diamond Warding.

In any case, the first time I entered, Sirus just blasted me. Interestingly, I was able to defeat him using the second portal! My drop this time was a Crown of the Inward Eye.

Speaking of the build I'm following, the Path of Building revealed that the Awakening skill gems are an easy way to boost DPS.
20210305:
I chose a stupid time to try and test a Seance, one delirium orb (jewelry), T16 map with plague of frogs and four blood vessels. Basically the map was too hard and I burned through about 50% experience.

20210410:
I got to the second challenge prize (24 challenges). I'm satisfied. I kind of wanted a Badge of the Brotherhood but it was super expensive.

The above entries were added on 20210720.
20210720 Comment:
On top of the league mechanic, the game got an update with the Maven. While I did not fight the Maven, I thought the new Atlas passives were a fun addition to the game. With respect to the league mechanic, it was mildly fun. The main part of the mechanic was straightforward (defeating enemies at the Ritual Altars), but the second part with the blood-filled vessels was not. That is, I didn't truly engage with the league mechanic in the way it was intended.
Ritual Favours

With respect to currency investment to builds, it seems I invested approximately the same amount of chaos. This league I spent approximately 1850 chaos into my BBBF build and about 525 chaos into my SA build. In comparison I spent approximately 1925 chaos into my SA build. However, this league I was trying to save up for Badge of the Brotherhood (the item peaked at around 42 ex and fell to around 26 ex by the end of the league). In fact, by the end of league I had saved 23 ex, 17 ex shards, and 307 chaos. As such, I could have theoretically purchased a Badge, but I decided not to. Had I made the purchase, I would have spent about 4450 chaos into my BBBF build.

In my Heist league post, I made a table of purchases and a table of sales with a minimum cutoff of 100 chaos or 1 exalt. This resulted in seven purchases and six sales. But in this post, I increased the cutoff to 1.5 exalt (about 150 chaos).

With one exception, the following were my purchases involving at least 150 chaos or 1.5 exalt:
ItemPriceComment
Assassin's Garb2 exalt(1 ex is 99 c)
Assassin's Garb1 exalt(1 ex is 100.8 c) Many printed listings for 2.8 ex, so I considered myself lucky to grab this printed listing for 1 ex.
Vermillion Ring2 exalt(1 ex is 101 c)
Fingerless Silk Gloves2 exalt(1 ex is 101 c) After this purchase I had 4 ex, 9 ex shards, and 133 c.
Vaal Regalia3 exalt(1 ex is 101 c)
Stygian Vise2 exalt(1 ex is 101 c) Initially I thought this was a good deal, but it turned out to be Synthesised and so it doesn't have a socket. As such, it was actually a bad deal; belts with the same stats would have cost just 50 c.

Exalted Orb drop

The table of sales below were sales involving at least 150 chaos or 1.5 exalt. The items in the table total about 23 exalt. Meanwhile, I estimated the total of all sales at 34 exalt. That is, the following table captures over two-third of all sales with respect to value:
ItemPriceComment
Gloves2 exalt(1 ex is 84.3 c) These gloves had 85 maximum life and 127 total elemental resistance.
Jewel2 exalt 50 chaos(1 ex is 100 c)
Jewel2 exalt(1 ex is 100 c)
Jewel1 exalt 50 chaos(1 ex is 101)
Necromancer Circlet3 exalt -10 chaos(1 ex is 101 c)
Jewel2 exalt(1 ex is 101.2 c)
Jewel2 exalt(1 ex is 102.5 c)
Large Cluster Jewel5 exalt(1 ex is 102.5 c)
21/23 Pulverise Support3 exalt(1 ex is 102.5 c)

The Large Cluster Jewel had a mildly interesting story. A day or so prior to the sale, I had it listed for 2.8 ex. Someone pinged me and I asked for 3 ex but they didn't reply. On the day of the sale, someone else - let's say Person A - pinged me, and since the supply had decreased, I marked up the price to 5 ex (with the next cheaper option being sold for 4 ex by a player that was AFK). Later Person A messages me and tries to bargain with me - specifically citing that there's one available for 4 ex. I politely decline selling mine for 4 ex ("no thanks") and Person A declares that he/she will wait for the AFK listing. Less than an hour later, someone else messages me for my listing of 5 ex; sold! At that time, that left only two listings: the AFK listing for 4 ex and another listing for 7 ex!

Finally, with respect to hours played, I put about the same number of hours into the game as last league. Note, however, that this league spanned a shorter amount of time (87 days instead of 116 days).
