GoNNER (PC) (2016)

Overview: A 2D platformer and shooter rogue-like.

20190804:
I obtained this game from the Humble Caffeine Bundle and decided to play this game in order to break even on my purchase of the bundle.

Setup: Changed resolution to 2560 x 1440.

Steam Game Time: 35 minutes

Thoughts:
Pros:
+ Friendly tutorial
+ Randomly-generated levels keeps the game fresh

Neutral:
~ Difficult

~ Rogue-like
~ Game requires improvement through trial-and-error

Minor Con:
- Not all the mechanics are explained in the tutorial (such as jumping on enemies to kill them)

Cons:
- Sometimes dying is a pain

Summary:
Personally, I'm not a fan of the difficulty of GoNNER. In particular, I don't find joy in adapting to the randomly generated levels. In general, I can't think of a rogue-like which I enjoyed enough to spend countless hours playing it.* With that being said, I could imagine players enjoying what GoNNER has to offer.

*I thought perhaps Rogue Legacy (PC) (2013), but it turns out I only played that game for 2.3 hours.
