Overview: Point and click adventure that takes place across three periods of time: past, present, and future. As Bernard, Laverne, and Hoagie, save the world from the evil Purple Tentacle.
20171003:
The other day (20170929) I was playing some highly rated games as rated by SteamDB that were also small in size. And while Day of the Tentacle wasn't small in size (2.3 gb), I was working at a cafe with fast internet and decided to go ahead and download it (it finished in about 6 minutes). Unfortunately, I never got around to playing it.
Although today I was at home and had a ton of games at my disposal, I decided to go ahead and play Day of the Tentacle Remastered anyways.
Setup: I played using the modern interface, and with the exception of a couple moments for comparison, I played with the modern graphics.
Steam Game Time: 75 minutes
Thoughts:
Pros:
+ The remastered version looks great
+ Strong story and dialogue
Neutral:
~ It's a sequel. I didn't realize that at first
Summary:
I haven't gotten too far into the game, but it already seems promising. In particular, I probably would have enjoyed the game in it's original form, so getting the pleasure to play the game with updated sound, graphics, and controls is a great bonus.
Furthermore, despite having played the game for 75 minutes, which I'll assume is a small portion of the game, I would easily recommend it to fans of the point-and-click genre.
