Count Pumpcula (PC) (Demo)

20221009:

First Impressions:
- Controls were very simple.
- Graphics were simple compared to one of the games from the Game Boy Advance Castlevania series - though this is a high bar for any game to compete with [20231021: I watched the latest trailer on Steam and the graphics look much better than I remember]
- Nonresponsive feeling when going through doors
- Despite being below my expectations, I tried hard to like it. I tried several times to defeat these set of three weird looking monsters before deciding to quit. - The pumpkin head idea is kind of charming.

Perhaps the game has a cartoony feel to it. So that the gameplay would have to be great or differentiate itself in a way that qualifies its choice in art style. For example, Costume Quest has an art style that is kid friendly but is a game I enjoy for it's gameplay, story, and art style; all the components go hand-in-hand. in other words, a cartoony art style is not a guaranteed negative.
