Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is a platformer where the main game mechanic is switching between two forms ("Punk" and "Sweet"). Not only does each form has its own power, but each form also perceives the world differently.
While this may sound hard, the game eases the player into the mechanic and the first several levels are quite fun.
20141004:
Today I played Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams for the first time.
While I had fun playing the game and enjoyed the visuals from time to time, I didn't feel a strong desire to return to the game after stopping. In contrast, some games have an addicting quality to them (Mini Metro and Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe are two recent examples for me).
With that being said, if you like platformers, but looking for something out of the ordinary, then you should look into Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams.
20150417:
Today I played a little bit more of Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams. Playing 1-4, I only managed to get 594 out of 751 gems and 3 out of 6 blue crystals.
Later I replayed 1-4 and got so many gems that I was intent on backtracking until I found the rest. I kept going and found one of the secrets I was missing, but still had five more gems to find! I thought I wouldn't be able to find them, but they were actually just in plain sight (it's easy to miss the yellow ones when you're the Rebel).
Yay, 751 out of 751 gems and 6 out of 6 blue crystals. Unfortunately, I also died 40 times.
I finished with 1-5, getting 322 out of 362 gems and 3 out of 3 blue crystals.
