20150905:
While hanging out with my friends, I decided to load and play Goat Simulator for the first time.
Setup: I added rocket and double jump.
First Impressions: I had some fun playing Goat Simulator, but it was less exciting than I had hoped.
Steam Game Time: 9 minutes
I went on to play Hammerwatch with them.

20170527:
Today I played the game again and I initially didn't understand the goal of the game. Eventually I remembered that the game had goals to achieve.
After achieving several goals, I was trying to work on one that gave me a lot of trouble: walking on my front two feet. I tried for a while to figure it out.* At one point, I managed to trigger it but I couldn't reproduce it. After a couple of minutes of trying, I decided to look it up and apparently all it takes is pressing up (W) and then down (S). It is, however, hard to balance. So after trying to balance, I watched a video on YouTube and the tip was to go into slow motion!
While then I was able to achieve the long manual goals, I tried to do the "Manual 3 Times in a Combo" goal and couldn't get it. So I searched for a solution and learned that there has to be a trick between the manuals. Fortunately, this doesn't make the trick any harder to do, but it requires either more space or quicker execution (e.g., do a trick as soon as the manual reaches 300).
The instructions are as follow:
At this point, I was two look-ups deep and so I looked up the solution to "Total Score Hard." **
With all the in-game goals and Steam Achievements, I was suddenly hooked. The game itself is comedic, but not that great.
*I later found out the instructions for this are given at the loading screen (as well as those for a wall run). The problem was that the loading screen didn't stay on the screen long enough for me to read/notice.
**Wow, the tip for this one makes it almost trivial. [Remark: I didn't realize at first, but this particular goal could be achieved on any map and the hint required going to Goat City Bay whereas I was playing in GoatVille]
20200523 Snapshot:
Steam Game Time: 5.3 hours
20200523:
Today I invited my friend Avi to play via Remote Play Together. We were planning to play and talk, but we ended up just playing.
Setup: Controllers. Splitscreen (Steam Remote Play).
Gameplay Log:
Familiarized ourselves with the controls (both on controller)
I looked to see if I had any quests to do. There was one about toasting bread.
We ran around looking to see what houses we could enter looking for a toaster and/or bread.
Eventually we found a toaster. It was outside and it was large.
We ran around some more looking for bread. As we did so we explored various other fun things.
At one point we jumped into a hole and I became large and he became small. We didn't quite notice until later though.
Coincidentally, we also ran into a slice of bread. It was moving on it's own. It moved like the bread in I Am Bread. This challenge is surely a reference to that game.
We delivered the bread to the toaster and the other slice of bread happened to have made it's way there as well.
Hooray, Avi got both slices of bread in the toaster and we completed the achievement.
The only achievement I still need for that level is collecting trophies. We found some during today's session.
Steam Game Time: 1.5 hours (session game time)* / 6.9 hours (total game time)
*Some time spent idle and/or for setup.

The instructions are as follow:
To complete this quest you must perform the following actions:
Manual to at least 300 points.
Jump and do a flip.
Stick the landing and immediately resume manualing.
Repeat the process twice without ending the combo.
Talk about ruining someone's appetite... |
